Blog

In this area I will be entering notes regarding all things Mac. I want to share with Mac users new programs I find and new ways to do things on my Mac. Working on my Mac is fun. I am always learning. I look forward to sharing.

Do what you love and love what you do.

Last night I read this commencement address by Steve Jobs at Standford University on June 12, 2005. I have been a fan of the Mac and Steve Jobs from my first Mac but I did not know all of his story. In this address Job's says "You have to find what you love." This is an inspiring story and contains a timely message. I highly recommend it. It also tells you that a lot of passion has gone in to making the Mac what it is today.

This is a picture of the entire Macintosh team that worked in Bandley 3, in front of the building. It was taken in December 1983 for the initial issue of MacWorld magazine. Note Larry Kenyon sitting at the front right, holding his newly born daughter Tracy, who's only a few weeks old.

Re-creating my website using Sandvox

Over the past two days I have been re-creating my highcountrymac.com web site using Sandvox. The previous version of my site was built with iWeb. The version before that I used Rapidweaver. They all have their proponents, but for me, Sandvox fits best.

One of the things I like about the Mac is that there are so many ways to do the same task. You find what works and fits you. A computer should help you express your creativity and not become some form of stress and tension that brings you down. We are all different. Ah. The Mac. Think different.
